The Asus Eee PC 1001PQ looks like a typical netbook on paper. It has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 3 or 6 cell battery. But the netbook lid features an unusual design.

The Eee PC 1001PQ is available in either “Flame Purple” or Vibrant Gold” colors. And both models come with a series of stickers which you can use to customize the design of the lid.

If that doesn’t particularly appeal to you, then you might just not be in the target audience. Asus singles out “pre-adolescents” on the official product page, suggesting that the stickers will allow them to “express themselves and their personality.” Because it only takes a few stickers to do that — preferably stickers supplied to you by the PC maker.

  1. any news on this 1001pq. Has it already gone to market? This looks exactly like what I’m looking for for my 11 yo.

  2. One can also personalize a netbook using sites like SkinIT or other similar sites. IMO; it is neat that one can customize it using some thing that comes with the netbook. In a way, one could – possibly – use any stickers to customize one’s pc. 🙂

  3. Damn, I was home PQ meant pixel qi! Will somebody ship a device with one of these screens?
