super tsuper-talent-mini-9-ssdYesterday Active Media released 2 new SSDs designed for the Dell Inspiron Mini 9. Now it’s Super Talent’s turn.

The company launched a half mini PCIe solid state disk and a double wide half mini PCIe. The half mini model will be available either as an MLC disk with 16GB to 32Gb of storage space, or an SLC disk with 8GB to 16GB. The double wide version will come in 64GB to 128GB (MLC) or 32GB to 64GB (SLC) varieties. The MLC versions will have read speeds up to 80MB/s and write speeds up to 40MB/s, while the SLC disks feature the same read speeds and faster 60MB/s price speeds.

No word on pricing yet, but the MLC disks will feature a 2 year warranty and the SLC versions will include a 3 year warranty. More information should be available at Computex next week.

Super Talent launches SSD line for the Asus Eee PC S101

super-talent-s101-ssd

Super Talent is pushing a new line of solid state disks for the Asus Eee PC S101 (or any other netbook that can accept a mini-PCIe card).  The SSDs feature maximum read speeds of 90MBps and write speeds of 55MBps. 16GB, 32Gb, and 64Gb versions are available.

These are MLC or multi-level cell” based chips, which means they’re relatively inexpensive as SSDs go. The 64Gb module will run you $169. Super Talent also shows SLC based modules on its spec sheet, but there’s no price listed for those.

GreenHouse offers overpriced SSDs for Eee PCs

greenhouse-ssd

Have an Eee PC 900 or 901 that’s saddled with just 12GB to 20GB of storage space? Japan’s GreenHouse is offering up a line of 32GB and 64GB solid state disks designed especially for Eee PCs. They’ve got read speeds of 35MB/s and write speeds of 15MB/s.

The only problem? They’re kind of overpriced, at 115€ to 235€ or about $143 to $300. For about half the price, you could pick up similar SSDs from Super Talent.

Super Talent releases affordable Eee PC SSD upgrades

Super Talent is getting in on the netbook action with three new SSD modules designed specifically for use in Asus Eee PC laptops. The mini PCIe modules will come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB varieties.

All three have maximum read speeds of 40MB/sec and maximum write speeds of 15MB/sec, which is respectable, but not spectacular. But the price is right. You’ll be able to pick up a 16GB module for $53, 32GB for $79, or 64GB for $149, making it easy to upgrade the storage on your Eee PC without breaking the bank.
