Leaving Las Vegas

hilton

In a few hours I should be on the air and on my way back to Philadelphia. We’re expecting bad weather in Philly tonight, so it’s possible I could get stuck somewhere in between here or there, but after spending most of the week in Las Vegas, I’m really looking forward to seeing my cat, my wife, and my warm bed again.

This week has been a blast. I’ve gotten a chance to connect with bloggers like James Kendrick and Kevin Tofel, Sascha Pallenberg, Xavier Lanier, Joanna Stern,  Warner CrockerBen Drawbawaugh, Dave Zatz and Mari Silbey. I also got a chance to say hi in passing to Ryan Block and Brian Lam, probably two of the most famous people at the conference that I kind of sort of know. The most famous people I ran into at parties and didn’t bother introducing myself to because I had nothinng particularly interesting to say at the moment (Not to mention that I lost my voice on Tuesday and therefore had little to say for much of the convention) were Xeni Jarden and Walt Mossberg

And of course I also got to catch up on the latest news from Asus, MSI, HP, VIA, Intel, CTL, Emtec, Coby, and dozens of other technology companies. I’ve still got a ton of material that I haven’t had a chance to write up yet, so you can expect CES-related posts to continue through the next week or so. And of course, the show is huge and I’m sure there were a few exhibits I missed, so I’ll be keeping an eye on other tech news sites for news I might have missed.

I hope you enjoyed my CES coverage as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you. See you back in Philly.

On the ground at CES

cheap-hotel

After spending most of the day in airplanes and airports, I’ve arrived in Vegas. My rented Sprint wireless connection is being a bit wonky at the hotel, but hopefully it will work better on the show floor… cause that’s likely, right? Right?

Anyway if all else fails, I’m springing for WiFi access at the cheap hotel I’m staying at which is where I’m writing this post, and where you can see that fabulous view from the window. On the bright side, I’m just a 15 minute walk from the convention center. Who needs a shuttle bus?

I’m frantically trying to catch up on the day’s news, grab something to eat and run out to an Asus event, so I’m going to do something a bit unusual here and just present you with my reading list. Here are a few stories that piqued my interest. I may come back to some of them with longer articles soon, especially if I can get some more information and photos from the show floor in the coming days.

More goodies coming soon.
