I've got good new and bad news on the MSI Wind front. The good news is that someone at the VR-Zone forums has been kind enough to post an image of the Wind with its cover off so you can see what the system board looks like. The bad news is you'll have to disassemble the case yourself if you want to upgrade the RAM, since there's no RAM access panel.

The Wind will ship with a minimum of 1GB of RAM, which really should be plenty for Windows XP or most Linux distributions. But if you want to run Windows Vista on this little computer, you're going to want to at least consider upgrading the RAM.

And here I thought my house was starting to fill up with little computers. While I've got an Asus Eee PC and HP Mini-Note, Flickr user Robert Nelson has me beat. He's got both of those computers, plus an Everex Cloudbook. So if you've ever wanted to see how the three computer stack up against one another in size, shape, and glossy finish, check out Nelson's complete Flickr photoset.

For my money, the HP Mini-Note is the best looking of the bunch. It's got a nearly full sized keyboard and a high resolution display. It's also a bit bulkier and heavier than the other two, so if that half pound matters to you (not to mention the extra money you'll have to shell out to pick up a Mini-Note, which starts at $499), the Eee PC and Cloudbook might not look so bad.

The MSI Wind is probably one of the most hotly anticipated new low cost portables. But for some reason the company has been reluctant to share high quality images, and we've been left to pore over a handful of photos snapped on trade show floors.

But those days are behind us. MSI has released a bunch of high quality shots, including the one above. I have to say, it looks a little bit more Eee PC-like than I had expected. The HP Mini-Note is still the most professional looking low-cost ultraportable around. (Would anyone kill me if I started referring to them as 'liliputers' instead of low-cost ultraportables? I'm getting kind of tired of writing that).

Engadget China has a full gallery of press shots, so check them out to satisfy your gadget lust.

While I'm waiting for my OpenSUSE first look video to upload, I thought I'd share some pretty pictures with you. Here's a slideshow of my Mini-Note with my Eee PC and my 15.4 inch Toshiba laptop.

As you can see, the Mini-Note is a bit wider than the Eee PC. It's also about half a pound heavier. But it's not much thicker.
