Liliputing is a news and information web site covering low cost, ultraportable notebook computers, often refered to as netbooks. A netbook is loosely defined as a laptop computer with a 10.2 inch or smaller display, which weighs around 3 pounds or less, and typically costs $500 or less, although some netbooks push these limits. By the way, after grumbling about blubber books (and dreaming of a VERY light netbook, it looks like I will be buying a fat Asus Eee PC 1000HE as my first netbook. The reason: the sudden death of my desktop. Unless I find the small displays impractical for serious writing (three book contracts), I plan to make due with my ancient 12-inch Powerbook--now hooked up to my printer--and the soon to be acquired netbook as the travel machine. In practice, travel won't be much further than a few libraries. Doubtless I shall look to your site for tips on how to add Linux (which distribution?) for a dual-boot. I look to Linux as much as a hobby as anything else.
