The MSI Wind U200 may share a name with the company’s netbook line, but this 12 inch notebook packs a whole lot more power. It has a 1366 x 768 pixel display, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, and runs Windows Vista Home Premium. It has a 1.3GHz Intel Pentium US2700 CULV processor. And according to German retailer Notebook.de, it’s scheduled to start shipping in 3-4 weeks.
The retailer is taking preorders for 629 Euros, or about $905 US. If and when MSI releases the U200 in the US, it will likely carry a lower price tag, as most notebooks do in the States. But don’t expect to pick this model up for under $400 anytime soon. It may look like a netbook, but it’s not priced like one. On the other hand, I don’t think you’ll have to worry about Flash video performance on this model the way you do with Intel Atom powered netbooks with high resolution displays.
