lengda-x10k

Computer maker Lengda introduced two little laptops at Computex last week. One is a standard looking netbook called the Lengda X10K. It has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel screen, a couple USB ports, VGA output, and an Ethernet cable.

But there are a few things that make the X10K stand out. First, it has a stainless steel lid, which gives the computer a bit of heft. It weighs 1.37kg or about 3 pounds. Lengda plans to make a lighter aluminum version as well. It also has a pull-out antenna which Lars from Netbook News says can be used for an integrated TV tuner or 3G UMTS modem, depending on the model.

Netbook News also got the skinny on the Lengda M11A, which is an 11.1 inch ultraportable featuring an Intel CULV processor. It’s about the same size as a typical netbook, an dhas a 4 cell Li-Polymer battery. It weighs just 1.3kg or about 2.87 pounds.

You can check out hands-on videos with each laptop from Netbook News after the break.

  1. Taking bets as to how long before the antenna is broken?

I’m guessing <40 minutes from unboxing.

  2. Well I’m going to go ahead and put this out there… that X10K is hideous. Cool that they thought to make it metal, but stainless steel… really?!? And on top of that it looks like it was made out of plastic and the stainless steel was glued on to the case to make it look like it was made from it… pretty pointless as that is just going to add weight and it doesn’t look that nice anyway.

    1. I wouldn’t say hideous, but yes, fairly pointless (and not that practical) removable covers – and shame (given that they are removable) they didn’t think to replace the one that someone had obviously attacked with a hammer.

      1. True, not hideous, but not looking to good with the hacked up top cover lol
