So…you have a lean OS, and want to bog it down to Windows levels with Firefox and OpenOffice?

There are also desktop, “full featured” apps which are properly written & lean…I thought for a bit that they would get into the spotlight now, when one of major computing platforms is quite “slow”. Seems I just kid myself…

I suggest these PC manufacturers actually go out and USE an Android smartphone. The OS is clearly a bad choice for a PC. It's a decent phone OS, but still doesn't have full copy and paste support and is lacking in several departments that I found unacceptable even for a smartphone. For god sakes windows mobile would be a better choice.

Why not just keep using REAL linux distros instead of molesting an OS that was not meant to be on a PC?

im tempted to say that desktop pc apps are overrated these days…

mobile apps are not underpowerd pr see, its the limited input and output thats the real issue.

I'm speechless. Of course a smartphone optimized OS will generally be “snappier” than a PC OS. I don't know what to say.

bet you a fiver CE is snappier on Tegra as well

but then if you are just talking the snappyness of the UI – my CE devices have always felt very snappy.
