I'm still getting the same 2hr with the 3 cell after updating to 10.5.7 so difference for me.

I'm saying coincidence. New Apple products often come with a custom OS X version. afaik Apple has never released a version optimized for unreleased hardware.

i've noticed some improvement on my 1000H. Currently at 63% left w/ 2h17m reported left on the battery.

I'm not sure why they'd provide such a patch prior to the launch of the speculated netbook, being as it would take away a sizable chunk of their potential market.
