Over the last year or so we’ve seen a lot of fake Macbook Mini fakes. Some are real netbooks with an Apple logo slapped on the case (or carved out of it). Others are nothing more than works of Photoshop art. But student Kyle Buckner took things to a whole new level with his mockup.

Buckner carved a 3/4 scale model of a Macbook out of wood. The result is a model of a Macbook that’s just about 9 inches long and has working hinges. The keyboard, touchpad, display, and other parts don’t work quite so well — because they’re drawn on with a pencil.

Buckner’s web site is down right now, but you can see more pictures at Gizmodo.

  1. Just wait until he finishes wood shop and gets into the electronics courses. 😉
