mini-10-refurb

Sure, Dell just started shipping shiny new Inspiron Mini 10 netbooks the other day. But it’s never too early to start adding refurbished units to the stockpile, right? The company is now showing a number of refurbished Inspiron Mini 10 models with prices ranging from $369 to $389 in its outlet store.

The netbooks are described as “previously ordered new,” but I’m not entirely sure how there was time for 80 or so customers to order these computers, decide they didn’t want them and return them to Dell. I’m wondering if these are open box samples that Dell might have sent out to partners or trade publications for review. Anyway, they’re going for a little less than full price, so if you’re cool with ordering a refurbished unit, you can save a few bucks on a Mini 10.

You can read more about the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 in the Liliputing Product Database.

Dell Outlet classifies products as Certified Refurbished, Previously Ordered New and Scratch/Dent. Previously Ordered New systems are a way for Dell to unload inventory at any given time (perhaps if the Mini 10 launch wasn't as successful as they had planned). They are brand new systems that have never been booted, though! With full warranty.

Why bother with a refurb Dell with 1024x576 resolution, which may or may not be used, when I can buy a new Asus 1000HE and soon enough a Samsung NC10 with better batter life and 1024x600 resolution (still too low). The NC10 prices have come down to $420 delivered and the Asus is $390. Fuggedaboudit Dell.
