How much for the extra 24 vertical pixels?
  • - $20 or $40. The 8.9 inch screen has a x 1024 x 600 pixel resolution.
The 10.1 inch screen comes in 1024 x 576. HP doesn't seem to have a
10.2 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel option. (I feel like they used to, but I
    could be wrong).

Maybe it is just me, but it seems like more vendors are offering 1024 x 576 instead of 1024 x 600. Anybody know why?
  • Apparently these screens are cheaper and more common at the moment. I
imagine this probably has something to do with portable DVD players.
But as netbooks become more common, you'd think that computer makers
could play a larger role in the price of these displays -- but they'll
only do that if they sense enough dissatisfaction with the lower
    resolution displays.
