dell-mini-64gb

Want a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 with a 64GB solid state disk? Dell has added the option to configure a system with a high capacity SSD for $150, but here’s the catch: It’s only available on Ubuntu Linux models at the moment.

When you go to configure a Windows XP model, the highest you can go is 16GB. You can also select up to 2GB of RAM for the Linux version of the netbook, while the Windows XP model maxes out at 1GB.

I would have liked to have a Dell network... I might even paid for the 64gb of SSD storage... but their service? Lousy... http://intelligentdiscontent.com/2008/12/21/a-d...

Thanks, again, Microsoft. Dell is not allowed to sell a computer with XP on it unless it meets Microsoft's netbook requirements: http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_co...

Is it me or does that NOT make sense. WIth XP you'd need/want a bigger drive and more RAM, right? Linux you could use more room or more RAM what OS couldn't use more...but...well it still just feels backwards.
