OK, technically I don’t think any laptop maker would advise you to rip apart your computer, cut the speaker cable, remove the tiny built in speakers and repalce them with another tiny but higher quality speaker. But if you’re comfortable doing those things, a member of the Sammy Netbook forums has shown that it’s possible.

He picked up a set of tiny speakers from a Swedish company and slapped them in his Samsung NC10 netbook. He says the sound is better, especially when the volume is cranked up. I wouldn’t expect these speakers to rival a good set of external speakers. But if you’re tired of tinny sounding speakers that might distort when you pump up the volume, this hack might be worth a try. The speakers do use a little more power than the original Samsung speakers. But that’s the price you pay for progress.
