Netbooks are smaller than your average laptop. Shocking but true. But that also means that when you throw a 7, 9, or 10 inch netbook in a full sized laptop case it tends to slide around quite a bit. And of course, lugging a huge bag around just to protect your tiny notebook sort of kills the whole portability thing in its tracks.
There are a handful of companies offering netbook-sized bags, cases, and slip-covers. And of course, you can easily fit many netbooks into the cases that are sold for portable DVD players.
But the Solo Netbook Messenger Bag has one feature that you won’t find in most netbook cases: It’s TSA-friendly. That means you can unfold the case and lay it down flat so it can be scanned by X-ray machines in US airports without taking your laptop out of the case. The bag sells for about $35, and features a fair number of pockets and room for accessories. It will hold most computers with an 11 inch or smaller display.
