samsung-nc10

The Samsung NC10 is one of the more popular netbooks due to its combination of excellent build quality and stellar battery life (Some users have reported getting more than 6 hours of battery life from a single charge). But it turns out that Samsung didn’t really expect the netbook to be quite so popular, and the company is apparently having a hard time producing enough units to keep up with demand.

According to MicroScope.co.uk, Samsung officials say the company probably won’t be ableto fill all of its orders before Christmas. Samsung is stepping up production, but might not be able to keep up with demand until early next year.

I am having a heck of a time getting one of these in black. I am going to have to have a friend bring me up one from the UK when he comes home for Christmas.

    Well worth the wait though.

Be careful with the black NC10s. It comes with the UK keyboard, which has an oversized enter key, and a small right shift key. If you're a touch typist in the U.S., you will find these two aspects annoying.

    It's already 499usd at Newegg...
  • Very happy I got mine before Black Friday. Got the white one for 470 at the time on Newegg. Been attached to my hip ever since.

What's more it's 488usd at amazon.com now. I ordered mine when it was 469usd. YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
  • According to the photos on Newegg (http://bit.ly/khYS), the keyboard of the blue version looks awesome. Or at least, much better than my Asus Eee 900 keyboard. I like that the right shift key is in the correct location (instead of the next county like Asus does).

I am soooo tempted to get one except I already have a 900 and a B202. Maybe I'd get more use from the NC10 than the 100 because of the larger display and larger (and better layout) keyboard? I could get one for less via personal purchase from a vendor with my employer, but they never had the blue model in stock. I am tempted to bite the bullet and get it from Amazon.

Or I can put that $500 in the bank for a rainy day. Decisions, decisions!
