Forget Black Friday. Retailers are doing their best to convince you to spend your money before the busiest shopping day of the year. Last week, J&R held a pre-Black Friday event and offered discounts on the Asus Eee Box desktop computer and Asus Eee PC 1000HD netbook. And this weekend it looks like it’s Micro Center’s turn.

The US-based computer store is sending out coupons to for a $299.99 MSI Wind netbook, good on November 22nd only. The MSI Wind U100 has a a 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, an 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, 802.11b/g WiFi and comes with a 3 cell battery good for about two and a hlaf hours of use. It runs Windows XP.

The ad says the MSI Wind weighs 2.6 pounds, but I think this might be a typo, since that’s the weight of the version with a 6 cell battery. It’s likely that this model actually weighs just 2.3 pounds. If you’re just looking for a cheap laptop and aren’t concerned about size and weight, Micro Center is also selling a full sized Acer Aspire laptop computer for $299.99. This notebook has a dual-core CPU, 160GB hard drive, and runs Windows Vista. Quantities will be limited, and both deals will be available only in stores.
