If you’ve picked up an HP Mini 1000 netbook recently, there’s a chance it’s got a 3G modem hidden away beneath the cover. But HP hasn’t enabled the modem so you can’t get online with your 3G wireless connection without installing the proper software – which a member of the Pocketables Forums was kind enough to post a link to.
It’s not clear that all HP Mini 1000 ship with this modem. But odds are if you see a SIM card slot when you remove the battery, all you need to do to get online is install the HP 3G utility and insert your SIM card. Well, that and have a wireless broadband data plan.
