6-cell-s10-battery

As far as I know, Lenovo doesn’t yet offer a 6 cell battery for the IdeaPad S10 netbook. But apparently somebody is making one, because a Zol.com.cn forum member posted several pictures of a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 with a high capacity battery.

Like most 6 cell netbook batteries, this one sticks out of the back of the computer a bit, making the S10 slightly more bulky. But that’s a small price to pay for an add-on which should double your battery life.

There’s no word on pricing or availability outside of China yet.

I'd like to point out that it's in fact NOT sticking out in a way most big netbook batteries stick out - from the bottom. It doesn;t seem to be quite as nice, when it comes to placement of nig batteries, as Thinkpads...but at least it's mostly out of the back. Which makes it quite a bit nicer to work with...

Now, if only their netbook had one killer feature of Thinkpads - the Trackpoint...

(at this moment - I think I'm not buying any netbook for a long time because they aren't properly portable - you can get full functionality I'd like to have only by carrying a mouse/finding flat surface; oh well, used/refurbished X41 will beslightly cheaper, slightly more heavy...and can still fit without problems in my normal bag I carry around)

The 6-cell-battery model will be a standard configuration at least in Germany, see e.g. the specs here:

I wish lenovo would get their act together, it looks like a such beautiful machine.
