The DVD drive was faulty on the day the machine arrived, and I stupidly dealt with NEC's support rather than simply returning the product to the retailer as defective.<br><br>It took almost a year and countless phone calls / emails to receive a replacement drive. Given that the Versa TXi was a ~$2,500 machine, and yet the support was so utterly appalling, I shudder to think how bad the support will be for a machine that's likely less than 1/4 the price.<br><br>I'd never pay a nickel for another NEC after my horrible experience last time around. I went through nightmares when I purchased an NEC Versa TXi notebook some years ago. I'd never pay a nickel for another NEC after my horrible experience last time around.
