It seems like just two weeks ago that MSI began offering rebates that bring the price of the MSI Wind U100 with a 6-cell battery down to $480. Or right, it was. Now you can pick one up for $430. The $50 rebate is still good, but MSI has apparently cut the price of the of the 6-cell Wind. A number of retailers are selling the netbook at the new, lower prices. It’s hard to find the white model of the 6-cell Wind right now, but there appear to be plenty of black units available.

This makes the MSI Wind one of the cheapest netbooks with a 6-cell battery around. If you do a little bargain hunting, you might be able to find an Asus Eee PC 1000H for about $450, but I’ve rarely seen the price go lower than that.

Update: The rebate applies to the 3-cell version of the MSI Wind, which is now available for $430. If you want to pick up a 6-cell model you’ll need to spend a few bucks more, but you can find one for around $459 or $469.

You can also pick up an Acer Aspire One with a 6-cell battery, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive for as low as $400. But the Acer Aspire One has an 8.9 inch display while the MSI Wind U100 and Asus Eee PC 1000H both have 10.2 inch displays.

I have a feeling once my netbook arrives Im gonna have to stop coming around here.

Prices are dropping so quickly that you cant help but feeling slightly pissed off.

Still, that's the price you pay as a first adopter and anything that brings us to a 200-250$ price range is good.

    Ill miss you guys :-)
