Chinese computer and chip maker Lemote is working on a new 7 inch netbook called the Fuloong Mini. The machine looks like it could become one of the smallest, lightest netbooks around, measuring just 190mm x 145mm x 37mm or 7.5″ x 5.7″ x 1.5″ and weighing just .85KG or 1.9 pounds.
The Fuloong Mini users the MIPS64-compatible Loongson 2F chip which can scale between 600MHz and 800MHz. The only other netbook I’m aware of using this chip is the Emtec Gdium.Â
The Lemote computer will have 512MB of RAM, an 80GB HDD, 4 USB ports, and an Ethernet jack. I don’t see any mention of WiFi, but I could be missing it. The Fuloong Mini will be available with Debian, Xinhua, or Rays 2.0 Linux distributions.Â
