The Asus Eee PC 900A is basically an Eee PC 900 with an Intel Atom CPU instead of the Intel Celeron chip that ships with the original. Jkkmobile has been playing with one for a little while, and he’s posted an extensive 27 minute video review.
If you prefer the case styling of the Eee PC 900 to the newer 901, the 900A might be worth a look. But jkkmobile points out that the SSD is kind of slow, the trackpad doesn’t have all the same multi-touch features found on the 900 and 901. It’s also more difficult to manually adjust the CPU speeed on the 900A than the 901 or 1000 series because the Asus Super Hybrid Engine software doesn’t show up in the system tray.
On the bright side, the Intel Atom CPU helps you get 3.5 to 4 hours of battery life with a 4 cell, 4400mAh battery.
