Asus has officially launched its online storage and download service for Eee PC users. We first heard about the company’s plans to offer an online file storage service back in June. But now that the service is live, it appears that Asus is offering more than simply a place to backup media stored on your computer.
The Eee Storage service, available at yostore.net, has several components. First, users get 20GB of online storage capacity. Second, the service lets users drag and drop files between their local Linux or Windows desktop and the online storage space. Users can also share files online with other users or create group folders to share a group of files.
There’s also an integrated download center where you can find software and firmware updates for the Eee PC. It’s possible that Asus could eventually use the download center to sell third party software to Eee PC users.
