Asus has announced the official pricing for the Eee Box, the first desktop computer in the Eee PC lineup. The Eee Box B202 will cost £199 in the UK, which is about $393 US. At that price, the tiny computer is cheaper than the original Eee PC 701 laptop, and significantly cheaper than the newer Eee PC 901.

The B202 comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, an 80G hard drive, Windows XP Home Edition, 2 USB ports, an Ethernet port, a card reader, and DVI output. It also ocmes with a mouse and keyboard and comes in black and white models.

You can certainly find other desktop PCs for under $400, but it’s rare to find one that’s so small. Like the Eee PC laptop models, the Eee Box lacks an optical drive, which means you’ll need to plug in a USB disc drive if you want to watch DVDs.
