It looks like we’re finally getting closer to the mythical $200 ultraportable laptop. Inventec is preparing to launch the $230 Inventec V10, which won’t win any performance awards, but might win a few blue ribbons for price.
- 10.1 inch display (no resolution specified)
- 1GHz VIA C3 CPU
- 128MB RAM
- 20GB HDD
- Ethernet (but no mention of WiFi)
- VGA port
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- IR port
I can’t say I’d really recommend this PC to anyone when you could pick up an Asus Eee PC 2G Surf for just a few bucks more. But if you’d rather squint at a 10 inch display than a 7 inch one, or if you want a roomier hard drive and don’t mind upgrading the RAM on your own (which I assume hope is possible), then the Inventec V10 might be for you.
