Apparently the Eee PC 900 will come in black, as well as white. I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you! But seriously, I don’t think anyone doubted that the next generation Eee PC would be available in black, white, and eventually several more pastel colors, just like its younger brethren, the Eee PC 701 line.

But that didn’t stop Engadget, Gizmodo, and a few dozen other tech sites from posting Flickr images of the first black Eee PC 900 spotted in the wild. And by wild, I mean someone apparently took a unit out for dinner, ordered the fish, and then posted the photos to Flickr. The folks at EeeUser should get credit for the find. But seriously, it looks exactly like the white Eee PC 900 we’ve come to know and love. But you know, it’s black.

If that’s the sort of thing that floats your boat though, you should probably check out a post at French site Blogeee with a bunch of decent resolution press shots of the black Eee PC.

i used to think the same. then i got a black maglite torch. which i dropped in the dark while it was stitched off. :-) since then i avoid black hardware. i may never have to search for a laptop in the dark but i can spot the white eee on the floor at night withour stepping on it.
  • I see. When someone gets an hp Mini, suddenly that person becomes a snob and disdains the Eee.

    Right then.

    Gotta get me that hp.

Oh wait .. the MSI Wind!
  • Heh... I'm just saying, did you really think the 900 wouldn't be available in black? Then why is everyone jumping up and down when they see a picture of a unit that looks identical to all the other models... but in white?
